Soon I’ll have house guests visiting for two weeks. I’ll be happy to see them, but it doesn’t mean everything else stops. I’m sure everyone is familiar with the concept. Cleaning, shopping, and a lot of other preparation falls into the space I call “time,” and whatever I normally have planned gets pushed to the side.
Add to that this week’s final exam in American Sign Language, Level 1. I had a mild panic attack when the teacher gave us homework that counts as part of the exam—videoing myself signing answers to a set of questions. It’s amazing how tangled my fingers get. (I know, I know, I put more pressure on myself than the teacher does.)
So my writing is one of the things that’s going to be pushed aside for a bit. It doesn’t make me happy, but it is what it is. It happens to all writers, and readers understand because they have the same issue with their time and reading.
Life happens. It’s all right.
Oh, gosh, I am there with you! This week is likely to be a total wash for me in terms of writing. Yes, it’ll be good to see family, but I get antsy when I’m not able to get any writing done. Good luck to you!
And to you! At least the Internet allows us to see we are not alone. 🙂
